 After undergoing three weeks empowerment training in Sweden, Mrs. Priscilla Quiah, senior trainer at the Liberia Media Center, has vowed to empower local journalists in reporting conflict sensitive issues in a way that will contribute to the building and sustenance of peace and security in Liberia. Mixed feelings have greeted news of the scaling down of the Initiative for the Mobile Training of Community Radio (INFORMOTRAC), a community radio training and empower project of the Liberia Media Center (LMC) supported by Radio Netherlands.
Journalists for Human Rights (jhr) and the Liberia Media Center (LMC) under the “Good Governance through Strengthened Media” project this week held a three day workshop for students of Journalism from the African Methodist Episcopal University, United Methodist University and the University of Liberia. According to the Workshop Facilitator, Yeama Thompson, the training will build the capacity of students in ICT to enable them promote human rights and good governance through the usage of social media....
